About the Scientific and Practical Conference
The Scientific and Practical Conference is aimed at facilitating an academic and social-professional discussion of the theoretical and practical aspects of the younger generation’s education in Russia and abroad and engaging the research community in studying the emergence and development of the children’s movement as a social institution of public education.
SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE GOALS:
  • shaping new approaches to the development of the children’s movement
  • discussing the findings of research studies aimed at identifying the current needs and interests of children and youth
  • heightening academic interest in conducting comprehensive research into the phenomenon of the children’s movement and prospects for the emergence of new interdisciplinary fields in studying the phenomenon of the children’s movement
  • activating the process of sharing new technologies and approaches in working with children’s social movements, best practices in the organization of educational work with children
  • fostering cooperation between the organizers, participants and social partners of the children’s movement
  • stimulating creative thinking among young researchers studying the phenomenon of the children’s movement
  • laying the groundwork for involving youth in scientific research and developing the intellectual potential of talented youth
historical experience in the emergence and development of the children’s movement
current trends and prospects for the development of children’s public organizations

PREREQUISITES FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE :

Submit an application for participation in the Scientific and Practical Conference no later than November 20, 2023, enclosed with a presentation abstract in the event of in-person participation

Choose one section for each day of the Scientific and Practical Conference – December 5 and 6

Participant travel and accommodations payable by the organization being represented
Criteria for competitive selection
  • Scientific and Practical Conference participants must satisfy the following requirements:
  • belong to one of the participant categories
  • submit information confirming participant category per the chosen Scientific and Practical Conference section
  • choose a presentation topic corresponding to the thematic areas of the respective Scientific and Practical Conference section
  • have experience doing scientific research or instructional work with children and youth at educational, social or other organizations
  • Important! Each participant may register for their chosen Scientific and Practical Conference area and present:
At the end of the Scientific and Practical Conference , an electronic digest of the relevant materials will be published.
The digest will contain abstracts of Scientific and Practical Conference participants’ presentations.
The digest will be posted on the official website of the Movement of the First and the Scientific and Practical Conference website: ученый.будьвдвижении.рф, as well as in the RRCI bibliographical database of research publications.
There is no handling fee for the publication of materials in the digest.

The Scientific and Practical Conference ’s work presupposes public presentations by participants on the findings of their own research/experience organizing instructional work with children and youth in the Russian children’s and youth movement, at youth public associations, according to the chosen theme of the Scientific and Practical Conference ’s various research areas.
Scientific and Practical Conference materials for the digest will undergo internal peer review for comportment with the Scientific and Practical Conference ’s research areas and thematic sections.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject an application for participation in the Scientific and Practical Conference in cases where: the presentation topic specified in the application fails to comport with the Scientific and Practical Conference ’s various research areas as provided in the Regulations, compilation of the presentation abstract fails to satisfy the stated requirements, or the application for participation in the Scientific and Practical Conference is submitted after the respective deadline.

In case of comportment with the chosen topic and the Scientific and Practical Conference ’s respective research areas and satisfaction of the requirements per Appendix No. 4 to the Regulations, the participant will be sent an email with official notice confirming their participation in the corresponding Scientific and Practical Conference section with a presentation.

Overarching goal of day-one sectional work: forming a modern, holistic understanding of the phenomenon of the children’s movement as a social institution of education based on a historical-methodological analysis of the practice of various types and forms of the children’s movement in Russia and abroad and the theoretical modelling of methods for addressing the current challenges of education in today’s Russia in the activities of the “Movement of the First.”
